Hula School of the Western Mountains

Founded in Boulder in 1993.

Instructor: M. Pumehana Paisner, MA in Dance Ethnology, University of Hawai'i, Manoa.

Motto: "Hula is the language of the heart and therefore the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people."
King David Kalākaua, last King of Hawai'i.

Classes every Sunday night

We teach and perform ancient and modern Hawaiian hula.
Performances: Boulder Creek Festival, Boulder Asian Pacific Festival, Boulder International Folk Dance Festival, assisted living and nursing homes, Sloans Lake Festival, business and private events and parties.

We belong to the Pi'ilani Civic Club (Hawaiian civic club in Denver).

Our mission is to teach and perform the traditional and authentic hula and chant of the Native Hawaiian people, NĀ KANAKA MAOLI.
